Ladybug Run for CDH Awareness 2017

lbr bib
Join us for the sixth annual running of this fun and unique family-friendly event on July 29, 2017. Our primary goal is to promote awareness of Congenital Diaphragmatic Hernia (CDH), a serious birth defect that occurs in one out of approximately 2,500 births and has a fatality rate of nearly 50%. All race entry fees and product sales for the event will go directly to help children and families whose lives have been impacted by this birth defect. Last year our amazingly generous sponsors covered the entire cost of the race and we were able to raise over $30,000 to benefit the Ladybug CDH Foundation and we’re hoping to be able to do even better this year with your help.

In addition to our regular 5K and 10K individual events, we are excited to announce a brand new event this year, a 10K, 2-Person Relay. Runners and walkers alike will enjoy making their way through the beautiful, stroller-friendly 5K course that begins in Cook Park in Tigard and winds it’s way west through paved and shaded forest trails along the Tualatin River. bug relayLeaving Cook Park up a challenging hill and into Tigard neighborhoods to Durham Road and turning at Tigard High School down 92nd Avenue back into Cook Park to the start/finish line. The 10K event picks up at the start/finish line and turns south on the Tualatin River trail through Cook Park making it’s way to the Tualatin River Greenway, past the Tualatin Dog Park and looping back near the Tualatin City Park to a short out-and-back near the Durham Park Off leash area returning back into Cook Park again to the start/finish line.

finishlineAfter crossing the finish line, our 5K and 10k participants will be treated to what many think is the best food, drink, and tasty goodies offered by any race in the Northwest. Crispy bacon and waffles will get the party started, along with Einstein’ s Bagels, chocolate milk from Alpenrose, and lots of other tasty snacks. Participants over 21 will have their choice of great craft beer from Ordnance Brewwing and ciders. Be sure to stick around after the race and enjoy great music and a fun afternoon in the park.

Our events tend to sell out fast, so make sure to register now and make sure you lock in your race shirt and medal for this year’s race. Join us and help children and families right here in the Northwest and have a great time doing it!
